Find a group of kindred spirits with whom to read books of Christian philosophy together, any kind of communal deeper reflection on current problems, so that you exercise in community how to pin down the idolatries of our day in theory. It must be Christianity at college week . . . I listened to a couple Focus on the Family shows on this topic, and just blogged on it myself last night.
(sorry if this gets posted twice . . . I got an error message on the first try).
Reading and discussing material is certainly critical. But not just Christian materal. It's critical read and understand the competition for men's souls as well.
You're right, Collin. Given that Seerveld was addressing Christian students at secular institutions, I gather he assumed that they would be regularly reading and discussing non-Christian ideas.
