After reading Adrian Warnock's announcement that he finally converted to Skype and Dr. AJ's enthusiastic report about a recent Skype exchange, I decided to see what all the hype was about. I'm glad I did. Today, on my maiden voyage, I had the pleasure of talking with David Wayne, a.k.a. The Jolly Blogger. I enjoyed the opportunity to hear and get to know David. "Jolly" is an apt description of this winsome brother.
Let me add that Skype's audio quality is impressive. I was expecting a walkie-talkie like interaction like that of Paltalk's but this was just like being on the telephone sans the cost. I agree with Dr. AJ that this is a promising medium for fostering an enhanced sense of community among Christian bloggers.

I've installed it. How it works I'm not sure. My number is 717-653-5753, if you get a chance.
How is this different from voice chat on Yahoo messenger?
I'm sorry, but having never used Yahoo's voice chat, I have no basis for comparison. Perhaps someone else with experience with both programs can answer that question.
I've also never used voice chat on Yahoo, but I will say that Skype is terrifice. Keith and I had a great conversation and the sound quality was as good as a phone line, in my opinion. We did get dropped a couple of times though, but connected a third time and talked for about 45-50 minutes with no problems at all.
Jeff - if you'll give us your "Skype Name" we can call you on the computer without having to go through the phone lines. Skype can call through phone lines but you have to pay for the calls. It's cheap, but you still have to pay.
Keith - it was a distinct pleasure talking with you and I look forward to more conversations in the future.
